Why don’t you outsource it?

You’ve probably seen those videos: “Starting a business is easy—you just get a couple of people…”

How, exactly? What are they going to working for? Glitter-filled air and the privilege of working with me?

So yes, I get asked this a lot: Why don’t you outsource it?

The first answer that comes to mind is: Of course, let me just find one of those pillows filled with money that is lying around waiting for me to empty it, so it can magically fill itself again.

Of course, I have tact and would never say it.

My business model is simple: spend as little as possible, so you can save, so you can reinvest. It may be slower than starting with capital or a team—but I don’t owe anyone anything, and I sleep well at night.

Will I outsource some things in the future? Absolutely. But the actual making of jewellery? No.
That part stays with me. I love it. I also hate it sometimes. But I love it more.

Before this, I worked in sales—everything from chocolate and coffee to shoes and advertising. And it always felt the same: pushing, convincing, sometimes even bending the truth.

This is different. In this specific jewellery making field, I know what I’m doing. Maybe not everything—but a lot. Enough to have made mistakes, fixed them, and learned the hard way. Enough to stand behind my work with confidence. And I think people can feel that.

This isn’t selling. It’s creating something honest, and giving people exactly what they’re looking for.

I don’t think there’s a magic pillow for that… or is there?
